Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other smeared vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Police report preliminary tests suggest the substance was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its source; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in relation with the incident," they commented.
Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the residents for details.
A high-ranking political figure commented the attack left him stunned and needed to be solved rapidly.
"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist attack five years ago," he posted on social media, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
